The Athenry Scouts had a great overnight camp from Friday 20th February to Saturday 21st February in Joy House, Galway. A big thank you to the Irish Girl Guides for allowing us to use their Den.
The Scouts had a mini-night hike along the canals of Galway and around NUIG.
Saturday involved a visit to the RNLI Galway where the Scouts learned all about the activities of the RNLI. A big thank you to Ciaran for looking after all of us.

Well done to all of the Cubs who participated in the Galway County Cubs Challenge day on Sunday 22nd February. The theme for the day was Communication. The cubs explored various forms of communication such as Mores Code, Sign Language, Telephone Wires, Semaphors, Invisible Ink etc
Well done to the two Athenry Scout Teams who participated in the recent Galway County Scouts Challenge Day. This challenge involves the scouts working in small groups to complete scouting activities such as First Aid, Knot Work, Compass usage etc. It was a cold day but everyone enjoyed themselves.
Congratulations to our new Beavers who were invested on Tuesday 10th February 2105. Hope you enjoy the Scouting experience for many years to come.

Congratulations to all of the Athenry Scouts who participated in the Galway County Scouts Challenge Day on Sunday 1st February in Galway City. The events involved the scouts working in teams of four, navigating the city and undertaking tasks at 9 activity bases throughout the city.
