Both Scout Patrols, Meerkats and Tigers spent some time on Tuesday evening assembling their Patrol boxes. Each patrol box was autographed by the Patrol members and will be varnished over the next few days.

Scout Camp Esker 5th/6th April
The scouts had an exciting weekend camping in Esker Monastery, Athenry. This camp was a preparation camp for County Camp in 4 weeks time. Activities included tent pitching, pioneering, fire making, backwoods cooking and of course a traditional camp fire.
For the backwoods cooking some Trout was wrapped in cabbage leaves and placed in the embers of the fire for 15 minutes. Several scouts discovered that they actually like fish.

Beavers – 1st meeting April 2014
Congratulations to all who joined our new beaver section in April 2014. Our first meeting was held in April with 7 beavers joining the 19th Galway Athenry Scouts.
